hi folks have a query re blackberry firmware, as im new to blackberry!

im on vodafone ireland,and running fw versions
4.2.2.146 platform 2.5.0.16

i checked with my operators website, and i am currently on the latest version released by vodafone ireland.


i read on the net that theres a new version released, what operator is this tied to? or is it generic?

also if i upgrade does it backup settings such as connection settings etc ?

Your carrier has posted links to the software that was originally installed on your device.

Other carriers may have different sub versions, some will actually contain fixes and improvements, but most are customized to the carriers specs.

Soon, very soon, a new version update will become available. When it does, for your device, you can update and experience all the new features.

Yes. The update process starts with a full backup and completes with a restore.
