I'm a BB/CB newbie. I just got my BB (Curve 8330) on Monday and I can't install the BB Desktop Software to my laptop which runs on Vista... I am currently downloading 4.3 from the RIM site. Will be able to get the software updates on this download? HELP! I love my new BB but I have no idea what I'm doing...
Thanks so much for replying... Forgive me for sounding dense tae 254, but what do you mean by "logged in as admin"? I tried to use the disk and it took forever to download from RIM...
When it is about to install after I answered all the questions, I get an error message that says something about a VBScript custom action error? I am currently downloading the 4.6 version from the BB site and I'll see if it happens again (i hope not)
Correct.. What exactly are you trying to do. Upgrade the OS.. If you just got your curve, you should be running the latest official OS for your carrier.
I haven't been able to install the desktop manager since I got the phone on Monday... The disk is the 4.3 version but I am just able to download the 4.6 version. I shouldn't be using the 4.6 then? I'm not trying to update the OS i don't think... I have to restart my computer now...
No 4.6 is fine to have. I was just wondering why it was you were installing DM.. not saying that you dont need it, just wondering was there a specific purpose because in your OP you said something about updating the software.
