I set up my BB 8330 as a modem and it seemed to be right one except for one thing. When I tried to connect it brought u the Verizon page to pay for the mobile broadband service. Is there a way to get this connection without having to pay the additional $30 or so a month?

Yes, you can get an APP called Tetherberry. If you use that APP and software and you get caught your account with VZW will be terminated. You will also have to pay big money to VZW! Just pay the $30 instead of paying up to $200+.

Tethering isn't free on Verizon. You need to pay for it if you want to use it.
