I am pretty new so I need some help. My BB is closed in a hard case not easily opened and I read a lot about battery pulls. I have a 8330. is it necessary or what? I hate to keep breaking it out of this hard case...Thanks

It is only neccessary if you are having issues with your berry that battery pulls will fix. Perhaps you should check into the application Quickpull. Here's a link for it.

Or just press Alt Right Shift Del to restart the phone.

It doesn't. alt + rt shft + del is a soft reset. Battery pull is a hard reset. Double alt + rt shft + del is also a hard reset. QuickPull emulates a battery pull without removing the battery. Only the BP actual stops all power to your BB.
