I just got my replacement 8310 and my old one used to stay at almost full battery all day long here at work. I am literally down in the basement with no service all day. I know that will drain it but the new one is at 1/2 battery already today. Is there a way to see what programs are actually running and draining it? I remember that i used to use the escape key to get out of Google maps instead of closing it properly and that would drain it fast but that app is closed.

Hit the ALT key and back key. Close all the apps. Hitting the back key does not close the app. You have to hit the BB menus key and scroll down to close.

I have the same problem when it comes to battery life. Where I work i hardly get any signal (our office is in the basement) so my phone continually searches for signal, draining the battery. I have found that when I close out of all of my applications my battery life is much better!
