I've searched the forums and the user manual and I can't find the answer to this very simple question: When you're typing, how do you backspace without deleting characters?

You scroll bacl with the trackball. If you do this whilst holding the Shift key down, you select text as well. It is the only way given the lack of arrow kkeys.

if your thinking as in a full size keyboard "backspace" like on a pc then its a del button with a left facing arrow below your P button
