I have my 8310 set to check for messages always, how do i change this feature so that either I check manually or once a day. I should know how to do this but for some reason I cannot figure it out again.

You can't, thats the point of a BB device, it offers you PUSH email, their is no option to "shut it off and check when you want",the only option you have is to shut data services off, then turn them on when you want your emails to come in, bare in mind ALL data will cease when doing this.

If you're not using GMail, Yahoo or Hotmail, and just a pop3 account, add that to your BlackBerry. That checks for emails every 15 minutes or so...
