i tried to add the symbol for the heart on my auto text. i copied and pasted from an email i sent to my self. i assigned the heart to letter h. when i type h and then space i get a ? i dont know what to do. please help. thanks.

I assign it, say, the bbheart, I name it AS bbheart in autotext, when Im typing, all I do to get it is type bbheart then a space

What's the symbol in the email? I don't know if you can get autotext to accept symbols not supported by the SYM menu key. I would suggest using "<3" for a heart if different from the email.

ok just figured something out. it does work when im sending an email just not in text messages. thanks for your replies though.

Someone sent me a whole bunch of symbols, I picked the ones I wanted, and assigned them, and it works well, if set up correctly.

I got a list of symbols, and that one I saved, I assigned it as bbsmile in autotext.

Yes they do, you can copy and paste them from an e-mail in your BB and share them or use them...

I'm having a hard time saving the symbol in autotext. I'm copying the symbol from my email, going to autotext, entering "bbheart," for example, in the "Replace" field, and then trying to paste the symbol in the "With" field, but nothing shows up when I paste the symbol. I tried saving the autotext, anyway, but when I enter "bbheart" in an email, it doesn't change to the heart symbol. What am I doing wrong?

Ok....so i'm a little slow on this. I copied the symbols and sent as an email. How do I copy from the email to autotext.

If when you receive the symbols all you see is black boxes, you need to install the mutlilanguage version of your os on your phone. I have a curve and have a ton of symbols. Feel free to pm me with any questions of for symbols.
