Hi Guys, I'm two year bb user (8703e- great phone) and lurker but first time poster. I picked up an 8330 from ebay which is in great condition but has one tiny little problem of people cannot hear me clearly which I am pretty sure is just the bad microphone. Works fine with bluetooth and seller said he only used with headset (um, yeah, never ever tried just the phone...) so I ordered a mic off ebay and I know it's surface mount and all that but I feel sure with just two contacts I can get it installed, just wondering if anyone has gone there before?

The plan is to get the new one so I can see just how it attaches, then if it is as I think, it will have two pads underneath, I will dremel the old one off carefully until I can desolder the old pads left from the carved-off microphone, and resolder the new one.

With two pads I may be able to tin both sides, then heat it up and 'slap' it down on the solder. If that doesn't work, well, we'll see then.
