Since I have gotten my Tour my wife now wants a BB. Since her contract isn't going to be up for over a year we are going to have to go used. One requirement for her is embedded picture messaging so it needs to be the 8830m. Is there an easy way to tell them apart? Can the OS from the 8830m be installed on the 8830 thereby giving it normal picture messaging capabilities?

    Thanks

It's going to be harder to find an 8330m than it will be to find an 8330. There is no difference physically between the two.

The only way to tell is the Options, About screen as it tells you what device it is.

You can't load 8330m software on an 8330.

Even if you buy a used 8330m, it's what is in Sprint's database for your acct that determines whether you get embedded MMS sent to the device or the dreaded Picturemail link.

That sucks, the 8830M's are still going for $200. When I got my Tour I had to change from SERO to EPRP so we sure as **** better not have any issues.
