GSM OS for specific device you have then yes.
CDMA OS for Specific device you have then yes.
Main points. either has to be GSM or CDMA that your phone is. and also SAME model it's intended for.

Unfortunately, you are limited only GSM carrier. AT&T, T-mobile. Sprint and Verizon are CDMA and would not work with you 8310.

It is. That is why it can only be used with ATT and TMO

the device os has to be for that device regardless of carrier, so if its for 8330 it will only with any 8330 if its for 8300 it has to be installed on a 8300.
