Hi, I just recently got a new unlocked 8320 which I am using on the Fido network in Canada. I do not currently have a data plan. How can I ensure that I am using the wifi connection to browse the internet and not the Fido browser?? I am worried that I am not doing it correctly and that I will end up recieving a huge bill at the end of the month!!! Please advise!

    Thanks!!

When using wifi under network connections you should see...

    • Green: The RIM BlackBerry is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
    • Yellow: The RIM BlackBerry Wi-Fi network connection is turned on, but the RIM BlackBerry is not connected to a Wi-Fi network.
    • Red: The RIM BlackBerry Wi-Fi network connection is turned off.

as well the wifi logo at the top, plus you would have had to select a network to connect to when using the wifi...do you remember setting this up?....you also have to be careful using wifi on Fido, make sure your EDGE data is shut off, cause like rogers..fido backs their wifi with EDGE..although this depends on the device, where yours is unlock i'd def make sure EDGE was shut totally off.
