I'm told that Verizon now owns Alltel. I'm sure Verizon will get the new curve 8900 but have doubts that the Alltel side will see the new curve any time soon. Anyone know for sure?

Hmm, I'm not sure either. Is the new curve CDMA? If not, then I would really doubt it.

If you are on Alltel and are in a non-divested area, then you will need to sign up for a Verizon plan in order to get that phone whenever they release that phone for Verizon.

There won't be an Alltel by the time it's released.

If you are in a divested area, then it will depend on who buys the area.

Ah, guess ill have to give it some time and see. If I have to pay penalties and change carriers to get one I will. The phone looks pretty cool and I like the features. Seems to be question about not being a 3G phone though.

Yeah, were still waiting in limbo as we are part of the divesture.

I would love to try a 8900 but I'm not holding out much hope.....
