my girlfriend ordered hers bb off of ebay and it showed up with no lock for the mini sd card. Is there a place I can order a replacement?

And wheres the cheapest place to find the blackberry pocket type thing. You know, leather case that shuts the phone off when you put it in?

It might be cheaper to return the BB to the seller for a refund than the buy a replacement part:

The pouches can be found on eBay and Amazon

As for the slide lock, good question. I've heard of them being available, but haven't found a source.

the phone was bought months ago and we just realized it when I was going to give her my old 4gb card, cuz I just got in my new 8gb one.

Which that reminds me, can the curve actually handle a 16gb chip?

Yes it can, quite effectively, provided you have an adequate OS.

Media card capacity is determined by your OS, and in some cases, by some carriers. the following is the OS-based capacities.

    MicroSDHC ONLY

BlackBerry Device Software version Media card size limit
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.0 Up to 2 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 Up to 4 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 Up to 4 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.3.0 Up to 8 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0 Up to 8 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0.81 and later Up to 16 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.6.0 and later Up to 32 GB

To find out what OS you have, go to Options>About. Or go to an entry field and type myver and hit spacebar, it will do this. 8330/4.5.0.131

The devices use microSD or microSDHC cards. Make sure you are looking at the correct type, the standard SD/SDHC cards are too large.

    Good sources are Amazon

    Newegg.com - ProductList

SanDisk, Kingston, Transcend, A-data, PNY,and Patriot are well-known brands.

Well, now you know some more. Some of them are sold in differnt areas, and I listed the ones I've used and not had a problem with.

Got a couple of fakes a while back, got a refund on them, too, but I also see a lot of people asking about cards, so that info is in my AutoText to save time.

I missed that slide lock on GSM4World, so that gets added, too. Thank you.

BTW, I've been most pleased with Transcend, especially when I transfer data on and off it on the computer. Their Class 6 cards are sweet.
