So I just recently got a BB for the first time used to replace my stolen phone and have since run into multiple problems. First off, there is a little red lock next to the option to turn off my phone lock which i would like to do. (I have already checked the encryption setting). Then second, I experienced my first infamous "automatic restart" today while in the middle of a call. Wouldn't have been a huge problem except that my SD card came loose while taking out the battery, and when i got everything back together the phone no longer recognizes the card and my computer doesn't "see" the phone through the usb cord. And third, I am a Mac user which would not be a problem except that I would like to try to update the device software (it is v4.2.2.180 ) to try to fix problems but Mac and BB don't play nice... any ideas? I know this is quite the medley of issues but any help is appreciated!

The red lock means that there is an IT policy on the phone. You will need to follow the instructions here - http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/remo...lackberry-569/ - to remove it.

I'm not too sure about the SD card issue. By any chance did one of the pins break on the card reader?

As far as updating the phone, right now there aren't many options for mac users. However, there is a version of Desktop Manager being released in September for Mac.

Here are two threads with suggestions on how to update the device in the meantime - http://forums.crackberry.com/f2/upda...os-mac-123270/ http://forums.crackberry.com/f61/upd...ing-mac-11545/
