We are talking about device where multimedia is an afterthought,
so I think your expectations may be a bit high.

I never kept a 4.5 long enough to test either.
But since my current upgrade is almost done I'll see.

Hopefully someone else with more experience on those issues
will stop by and provide a better answer.

what OS will you be upgrading to?
what i mean by excellent is the same(volume quality) as the OS i have now.

i really dont want to upgrade if the volume will be less(noticeably less) than what i have now.
and i really dont want to upgrade if the video recording will freeze on playback
or freeze on a constant over and over basis,

i would like to hear from experienced users on this

    TY

hi all, i thought about upgrading to a newer OS for my 8310 curve.
i havent decided on which version yet cause i really havent the time to read all the threads on which is the most stable OS for my 8310, i just want video and support for my 8gig sd card

but my question is it suitable to upgrade the OS on my 8310 using a laptop?

    thanks all

I'm running 4.5.0.93 on my 8310, without any problem so far. Laptop should be fine, just make sure that the laptop is plugged in to the wall. Wouldn't want the laptop to shut down midstream.
