    Hi,

I have a 8310 Curve from about 3 weeks now and I am in love with my BB. I have a peculiar problem. When the battery level reaches below 15% I am not able to use my phone. I get the msg that the battery is too low to use Radio Services.

I was not able to find any option to change this setting and allow the radio services to be used till the battery is completely drained.

I just want to know is there an option to change this setting or is this a standard feature of the BB phones

    Please advice.

Worse thing you can do is let your battery get that low. Charge it every night. Have not been able to find a setting to change percentage. but if your battery goes completely you will have problems

it's the opposite, letting your battery get really low, is bad for the battery in the long run.

Got it. One more thing...How long should I let it charge.....Once the battery shows 100 %. Should I take it out immediately?? or can it be charged overnight occasionally

There is stop gap built in, you cannot over charge the battery.

There is circuitry in the phone to prevent overcharging, you can't hurt the phone by leaving it plugged in overnight.

BBs are fond of power. If you look in manual, you are advised to charge regularly. Without power, you have a cute paperweight.

The BB will start trying to preserve the battery at 15%. It is trying to reduce load so you get the idea to put it on charger. When you plug it in, that LED flashes to remind you it Doesn't like you right now.

You have a Lithium-Ion battery now, not an old Ni-Cd. You pull your Li-I
down and you'll wreck it in short time, and it will wreak havoc with your Curve. Or any BB for that matter.

    Great info.

Is it harmful at all to partially charge the battery. In other words, I have 65% charge and I sync with my laptop USB for 30 minutes. When I unplug my battery is not at 85%.

Is it ok to not charge it fully?

    Thanks...
