The issue probably lies in the fact that the 3800 doesn't exist.

The curve series is 83xx. And no, you need a data plan - not just t zones.

Honey, read your post. You said 3800.

At any rate, you need the data plan.

Give it a shot, and read the whole thread for instructions.

Yes you do. Those are not Over The Air (OTA) files.

You need to have (A) Desktop Manager and (B) your Operating
System installed on your computer for any of this to work

The OS i can't link to as there is no 8300 listed on the T-Mobile site

    T-Mobile Desktop Software

Don't waste your time. You cannot load the OS for the 8310
    onto a 8300.

    OS's are device specific.

Try going to your carrier BIS site and resend your
    Service Book

And bear in mind I did say this may not work. It really is hard
trying to accomplish stuff like this without a data plan.

Have you registered the phone with tmobile, by calling and telling them you have a bb? If not do that, and then resend your service books by calling your provider and asking them to resend your service books go directly to BB support!

    Hope that works and GL!

Contact the seller and make sure they have released their account
If they haven't you won't be able to setup the account and
    resend your service book.

what account are you talking about? i dont think they have an account they are using tmobile also so each phone is link to an acct itself?
    09-24-08 02:17 AM
  25. amazinglygraceless's Avatar
Each BB is linked to the users account by it's PIN and IMEI.

If the seller has not released those from his account, you will
not be able to set up yours. No account can be setup if a PIN
and IMEI are active on another account.

Which is why I suggested you contact them. This happens quite
    a lot with used phones.
