    Hi,

My first post, so I hope somebody can help. I have a Curve which is costing me a fortune in data charges as it's connecting to the internet every 5 minutes 24 hours a day. Now I have to confess I don't really understand how a Blackberry receives it's email in terms of it being pushed (does this mean the handset doesn't dial in to get my mail?), but my carrier is charging me for this internet connection outside of my monthly Blackberry plan.

    Any advice most welcome.

    Tom

The BB doesn't dial in. Mail is pushed to the device as it is received in the BIS system. It's all automatic. That's the beauty of Blackberry. The only way to turn it off completely is to remove the account or stop the forwarding to the device at the BIS level. You can turn off data in Options >Mobile Network but the data will come in as soon as you turn it back on.

Check BBToday, that could be the culprit
