A bit more info please. I bought my husband a 4 GB SD, but I want to get a 8 GB for myself. You are scaring me!
i was implying that the question of this thread is silly and that i dont understand why anyone would need to ask it since memory cards rarely fail, thus why someone would need to get support from a community about them.

LOL... anything could happen... maybe you should stay away from cell phone because I hear they cause cancer.
Personally, I would love to put in a 16G chip or bigger, but they don't work in a Curve. Someday I will be able to put my entire music collection on my chip, but I'm sure that will not happen for at least 10 years or so (at least at the rate of growth they are moving at today), and I will get that chip when I can and when the OS can handle it.
microSD and microSDHC card capacity for the various BlackBerrys is dependent upon th Operating System version so, got to Options, About and have a look at the 3rd line down and then read this post http://forums.crackberry.com/f2/micr...c-cards-46673/.
everyone skipped over the part where she bought her husband a 4GB but is getting herself an 8GB. sounds like she has more that just SD card issues..........
I'm under the impression that 4gb MicroSD card is the max size you can use with a phone running the v4.2 OS.
Also under the impression that the newer v4.5 OS will support the 8gb or larger MicroSD cards.
That seems right. Its OS-dependent, not hardware dependent. I'm using an 8GB card on a Pearl 8100. Works great!! I just can't wait until the 16GB cards are out. I hear they should be out by the end of the year.
I have vzw 4.3 os and use an 8 GB card with no issues. Works great for my habit of listening to radio podcasts! I thought my deal of $42 with a usb reader was a good deal two weeks ago! Darn might have to buy another one for the Amazon price!

yeah two weeks ago I bought mine from Circuit City discounted to $50; I jumped at the oppertunity. It's a scandisk with the USB reader. I love it. One problem i do have is viewing all 1200 pics i have stored. Whn viewing in thumbnail its slugish. Can anyone suggest a software that is better than the bb software to view pics?
I have the Sandisk 8gb Micro SD and just plugged it in and my 8310 Curve from Att recognize it as 7.30 gb.
questions is: Do I need to format? How can i load application into the micro sd card instead of my Curve internal memory. I download apps via my curve browser but it is not using my Micro Sd card for memory. why is that? can someone help?
Many people had the same hopes, but blackberry only uses the memory card for MEDIA purposes. THere are many threads on this issue. WHo knows, maybe someone with an in at Blackberry could suggest this as a software upgrade.
I have 1200 pics on my 8 gig, my only complaint is that its slow when using thumbnail view!!!
