Could someone please tell me what added benefits that you get with 4.5 over 4.3? I just found out today that Alltel has a update and just curious to know if it is worth it!!!!!
It's also faster, and will likely give you more file free. It did on my device, and based on another forum threads, others have noticed more file free as well!
--Do a device backup before you attempt the OS upgrade.
--Your 3rd party apps should remain intact. mine did. however i made a list of my apps just in case they disappeared. after the upgrade you may need to re-register some of your apps but they should be there to click on.
--Make sure you click INSTALL next to DOCS TO GO.
--After upgrade resend your service books.
--Have the latest DM installed.
--The process should take an hour, give or take. be patient.
If you follow the instructions in the sticky posts at the top of the forum, you will see a link for backing up 3rd party apps. Never had a problem with my upgrades, but it's a good idea to back up the apps anyway.
You mentioned an Alltel upgrade to 4.5 I saw several people that were able to install it, but when I tried yesterday I see it's gone. Do you have a way to it?
It is gone from the Blackberry website which means Alltel took it down for some reason. You can follow the instructions below to install another carrier's OS;
