I have videos taken from my storm.I am trying to put those videos on my wife's curve. When I try to play them on my wife's curve I get an error about not being to play the file. Do I need to convert them...If so,to what format and what program do I use. She has 4.5.138 on her phone. Thanks in advance.

My Curve 8330 has no problem playing my movies that are in .3gp format. I'm on 4.5.0.138.

Here are the settings I use in Mediacoder to encode my movie files:

    Video:

    Mode: BitRate based; 450 kbs
    Format: XVid
    Container: 3GP

    Audio:

    Audio: Nero Encoder
    Resample: 22050 khz
    Profile: LC-AAC
    Target BitRate: 24kbs

    Picture:
    Resize: 320 x 240
    Crop: Disabled
    Frame Rate: 15 fps

Check the Format and Mode. The Bitrate cannot be much over 500 kbs, or the Curve will have a hard time keeping up.

Download Mediacoder (free) and "convert" the file. You will see all the tabs and settings that are available in the Mediacoder window.

As you can see in my post above, even though a file is in a .3gp container, it can be encoded using a wide variety of video and audio encoders. Not all of them are compatible on the Curve.
