I was told that 3G technology is being approved by FCC and we ll be getting it in 4-6 weeks. HMM, I wonder if that is coming out with the 4.5 OS also. Wondering hard!

Curves support GSM/GPRS with EDGE - it's hardware level compatibility.

EDGE (Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution) itself is a stepping stone from 2.5G to 3G.

Don't believe anything until its in your hand. For example, the 8120 and 8820 were supposed to have been released by now, but here we are still waiting. Same with the OS update, with no official release date even being announced.

I guess that would be going to Sprint as well as VZW? Or is VZW getting the only one? I'd be interested in seeing a side-by-side comparison of the VZW/Sprint network speeds along with T-Mobile and AT&T, at any rate to see how the 3G phones compare.

3g compared to edge is like night and day...my buddy has a black jack 2 wit 3g and it is a LOT quicker than my curve with edge
