Pardon my ignorance-- is there any difference between the two? Is the
    Rev A faster?

My 8330 with Alltel is 1XEVDO and I was wondering if Alltel offers any higher speeds.

    Cheers.

I don't believe the 8330 is capable of EVDO Rev A.

1X and EVDO are different things. 1X is an older technology. EVDO is the current generation of data speed for CDMA (VZW, Sprint) and EVDO rev. A is the next generation, about to be widely deployed. It is available in some markets already.

I don't believe the 8330 is capable of EVDO Rev A.
    Correct.

1xEVDO is EVDO and 1xRTT was the older 144 kbps data.

I have sprint, and I have yet to be in an area where I receive EVDO, I'm always on just plain 1x, it sucks

Thanks for the replies. The following is a quote from Phone Scoop...

"There are currently two main versions of 1xEV-DO: "Release 0" and "Revision A"."

I found this article interesting. I would love the Rev A-- Treo 800w from Sprint is a little tempting...
