my name is PB. i've recently purchased an 8350i & i'm very happy with it so far. it's much better than my old 7100i. after reading these forums, i was able to put an ebook on my micro/sd card via mobipocket (the card's the size of a fingernail. amazing!). anyway my question is: can i use my old 7100i batteries (c-s2) as spares for the new 8350i(c-x2)? all the notches seem to be in the right places, & they're both 3.7 volts. they're a little thinner, but i could wedge a small piece of folded paper between the battery & the door. i'm afraid i'll fry my phone if just try to put one in.
thanks in advance of the info!

what is the amp rating on your "spare battery"? i would compare the 2 before i take the chance.

    the cx2 is 1400 mAh
    the cs2 is 1000 mAh

i did it for ya, looks like the answer is no it will not work.... for very long.

i think that means they just have a lower capicity than the batt. supplied w/ the phone. i'd just be using them for emergency spares in the glovebox & briefcase. does the lower mAh rating mean they would damage the phone?

My 8350i is deceased, so I figured why not try this. If it fries the phone, it fries an already dead Berry. I popped the battery out of my 7100i and put it in my 8350. I never got past the white "thinking" screen before the battery icon came on the screen telling me I had the wrong battery installed.

However, the 8350i battery works just fine in the 7100i. The back of the 7100i doesn't fit quite right because of the thicker battery, but it works fine with the bigger battery.

    coldsunshine: thanks for trying it!
so i guess i have an excuse to buy the siedio extended battery & door now.
i'll just put the 7100i on craigslist w/ the spare batteries.
    thanks again exerybody!

hey when you get your ext batt, you may have to put a little something between that battery and the case. i set my bb on my bed and my screen went grey.... went to do a battery pull and the battery was loose in there. i put a piece of the shipping bubble wrap in there (1 layer, 2 bubbles) and it fits perfect now.
