Edit : I added a fourth picture, it's a more 'cleaned up version' with the keyboard of the device that leaked a month ago.

    Hey all,

I designed this concept a little while back, and initially it was meant to be smaller than the Q10, with a much smaller bezel and a slightly larger screen. Well, when i finished it, it just look awkward to me, so i never posted it.

When i read the article about the 5 inch 1:1 screen i thought i'd blow up this concept , so you could see what it could look like, 5 inches 1:1.

Sorry about the image quality, as i only had the .jpg left.

Again, it's not about the phone and how it looks cause i know it looks awkward, but it's for the people that are interested in what a 5" 1:1 screen could look like.

The first picture is the original file, the second picture shows the Q10 next to the 5 inch Q10, and the third one would be the Q10 on top of the 5 inch version,

I can see this being the ultimate enterprise device. It blends both a phone and tablet beautifully. Nice job. I can guess some will mock this, but it's only something different that can really be the next big thing. BlackBerry needs pure guts to bring something outside the box. This is just enough that does not stray too far from it. Thanks

It's funny how cell phones were originally quite large, then they got smaller and smaller. Now we've come full circle with the phones growing larger in size, first the candy bars phones, now phablets, and this! Soon we'll be toting bag phones around again! Hahaha

The 5" is a little too big for my taste, however i'd like one larger then my q10. That's why I prefer a slider, big screen and physical keyboard when needed and doesn't look awkward.

    I'm liking it.
I'll take the large screen with that beautiful looking keyboard. The space bar button can be a bit larger and we are all set.
Heck even if you put the tool belt on the bottom of the screen, I'll still order one of these babies.

The size of this phone actually would work perfectly for me and no I don't have huge hands lol The proportions look better than a taller phone.

The Q10 is small relative to the Z10 and Z30. How about reference images compared to those? Thanks.

It should be the size of a passport. A year or so ago I did a poll here about whether people would go for a BlackBerry that size and a fair number said yes.

As much as people make fun of big phones they sell. This screen pared with BlackBerry's new innovative keyboard design should make one hell of a Q30. The Q20 will still be available for those who want a smaller screen. Much like how the Z10 and Z30 coexist. I think once we see a production version and hands on videos people will take the device more seriously.

looks nice but will it feel right in the hand. Last night I spoke to somebody who did not want the Q10 over his Bold 9900 because typing was better on his bold keyboard he did not like the straight keyboard of the Q10

Personally I think it's hideous. A big clunky looking square phone? IMO it's more of a step back as far as design. I'm sure many will disagree but for me, no thanks.

I think that I get what you were doing here. (I am a Q10 lover.).

Elsewhere, I mentioned that the additional area could be used for additional keys. But, I'm stumped whether a top row of number keys would be better than a separate keypad. Would assignable function keys be of value?

When we look at devices with such potential, I cannot help but think a slider would be key. It reduces the size of the closed device while maintaining the keyboard functionality you demonstrated here. The nice thing about a large slider is that it provides the volume for a good mechanical slider mechanism.

Hi All, I loved the screen size, I so prepared to switch from my Q10 as I think the Q series should be kept for utility business some who are are keypad addicts.

We all have the Z series that we can say no to size as I get it why many say no to Q20 size concept ie ease of one hand operation.

However I do agree with the many that the track pad is a must for keypad users as the Q10 offered 60% of what physical buttons can do.

Is short I fancy bigger screen and the tool belt is a must to come back ( copy-cut and past and selection is a pain without a track pad!!!!!)
