    Hello all,

I hereby present you my vision of what the next Q10 could be like.

It has a ( much needed ) bigger screen, smaller bezel, better specs and it should be a bit more office friendly.

    Possible specs could be :

    - Snapdragon 600 processor 1.9 GHz Quad Krait 300 CPU ( Snapdragon 800 would be overkill )
    - 32 GB internal storage memory
    - 3 GB RAM
    - 3000 mAh battery
    - Dual-Sim ( with a Business and Leisure option )

What do you guys think of this concept phone?

4 - 4.3 inches would be perfect. As long as it's not clunky.

    Yes I think that's perfect.

I wonder if BlackBerry will ever consider losing that empty keyboard space right under the space bar. It's useless no? Makes the device bigger when space could be used for the screen.

That's an interesting concept you had. Let me play my idea too.

the form factor of Q10 is exactly what I prefer. As for me, these enhancements would be enough:
    - 3.5 inch display
    - 1.8GHz processor (1.5GHz Quad would also be good)
    - Aluminum body (also to help with cooling)
    - Scratch resistant screen and body (military grade as they say + waterproof)
    - 4GB RAM (full readiness to 64-bit architecture)
    - a compact 3000mAh battery

+ an operating system which utilizes the hardware performance. Battery life that could stand a day of heavy use.

    Like it a lot!
But i'd add some of the suggestions above:
    At least 4.2" screen
4 GB ram for super fluidity of the OS
Metal on the side like classy 9900, no plastic look like the Z30
z30 width would be great to balance the higher screen (slightly larger keyboard)

I am not a hardware expert but I would imagine that a screen has to fit some sort of standard. Right now the screen is 720 X 720 - a square screen. They can only make the screen bigger by making the phone wider. I agree though that they should move away from the square format.

A very nice render other than that . I do wish that folks who are willing to do renders had the know how to give us the dimensions.

I like the Q10 the way it is with rounded top and bottom, but make it a 4:3 screen. So if the screen is presently 2.2"x2.2", stretch it out to 3"x2.2". Still not overly big. If you wanted a 16:9 screen, it would be stretched out to 4"x2.2". Might work.

I tried playing around a bit with the dimensions but it's not that easy, unless i'm missing something.

But that is why the second picture has the Q10 next to the concept phone, it could even be a bit wider.

    Maybe have a 800x1080/1200 resolution?

If they kept the same width as the Q10 but adopted the 1280 x 720 standard , I calculate a screen of 2.2 w 3.91 tall and around 4.5 on the diagonal. With a square design I think that the increase in height need not be 1.7 inches . Probably an 1.25 inches. I think this device would really be a great phone.

You can't put in a 3.5 inch screen into the Q10 form factor ... unless you are prepared for both a wider and taller device. A taller device rather than a wider device seems to me the way to go. The pay off is in the larger screen.

    A 3.5 inch screen on a Q 30 would require a 2.5 x 2.5 inch screen... Better than a 3.1 inch screen.
It would be neat to see competing renders.

i'm sorry guys but i don't like this Q30 design...it's too long & big for a phone. would have preferred a design with the fusion of both the bold V & Q10.

If you don't like it, you're entitled to your own opinion, but the 'it's too long & big for a phone' remark makes little to no sense. I put the 'a' in cursive, because your comment would mean that this concept would be too long and big to fall in any category, mobile phone wise. In the second picture i've put the Q30 concept next to a Q10, and it's just slightly larger. What you get in return is a screen that's 1.5 times as large as the Q10, and overall it's just a slimmer phone. But like i said, everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

I do understand that you'd rather see a fusion of the Bold and the Q10, but since almost everyone, including myself, find the screen size to be the biggest downer, i don't really think that BBRY is going to release another flagship device with a small screen size.

Unless it's the Curve of course.

Thinking the Z30 with a keyboard. ...good thinking.

Developers will be happy. How many times you've seen not available for the Q10?

    A 4.2 inch screen with a Q10 keyboard and z30 battery, but a thinner bezel .

Maybe the thickness of the Z10 or thinner.

I'm saying no to sliders, touchscreens hold sway and BlackBerry doesn't have the resources to build a slider.

BlackBerry is the follower in the smartphone market NOT a leader.

The challenge is to build a smartphone that will make everyone want to come back to BlackBerry from all other operating systems.

So far we've yet to see that happen.

Why does everybody want aluminum!? Personally, I'm not a fan of banged up phones. Idk what the deal is here. Help with cooling?? Aluminum conducts heat. What you want is a more efficient processor.

If BlackBerry comes out with an aluminum phone, I'm sticking with my Q10. You think you want aluminum. In reality, you'd be fine with stainless steel. Kill the aluminum arguments please.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinions, but I'll be damned if BlackBerry takes some of these into consideration. You're not ruining my future phone, not on my watch!

A 4:3 screen is exactly what I would like to see. Keep the Q10 width and add the 4:3 screen to it.

Nah. same old same old. Not a wow design. Honestly would you buy it if you already have a Samsung, LG or Iphone? As a Z10 owner I'm waiting for a killer QWERTY design that will turn heads when I'm holding it up and that is distinct from Samsung. HTC or Iphone....Give me something that is totally eye popping design that is both affordable and sexy.
