Who thinks a bigger than Z30 5.7" Screen would be too much?

I love my Z30 more than my Note 3, but I was sitting today wondering if we'll ever see a bigger Phablet from BlackBerry...?

Would anyone want one bigger than 5"?

I would actually like to see what they could come up with design wise.

    Opinions?

    Oh god no!!

Ok, in all honesty if people want it, go for it.. but it's definitely an IF, these giant phones are a very niche market in my opinion. Even the Z30 is too big for me. I'm the guy who always upgrades on launch day, but I had to pass on the Z30 due to it's monstrous size. I don't care if they keep getting bigger and bigger as long as they keep making at least one model that's of a usable size. Fingers are still crossed there's a new 4.7-4.8" device in 2014 otherwise me and my Z10 will be together for many years.

5" is more than enough for me. Can't say the same for some people though. I will hate to have a phone like the Samsung Mega 6.3" WTF!?

Since almost every major smartphone maker is producing a 5.7 and up screen phone now so yes there is a market for these large phones. That being said just making a phone with a super huge screen is not enough you need to have software that makes use of the larger screen properly. This means in its most basic sense split window viewing at the least. This is why Samsung has dominated this area as they were the first ones to do it right with the Note 1 and then continue to inovate with more S-pen functionality. So no BlackBerry should not make a phaplet unless they can make good use of the screen real estate.

If it's about 5.5-5.7", I say yes, because at some part of the world would like to see BlackBerry in a bigger screen than Z30.
More than that, absolutely no, It's better to produce a tablet, but I don't think it's come on Chen's plan for the near future..

They first need to catch up with there current competition on the Z30. The Nexus 5 has a smaller body and has 1080 and a much higher PPI. They also have a urgent need for larger screened QWERTY models.

if anything i'd say that the z30 is a bigger device than i prefer. It's brand new to me though so perhaps it will grow on me.

Samsung announced the other day that they sold 10 million Note 3 in two months, there is a market for a big phone. I would buy a big BlackBerry phone.

I would suspect that the next all-touch is not going to be for you either in that case as it is almost certainly going to be a 5" model again, that seems to be the most mainstream size for a 1080p display right now and they are not going to want to go with something smaller with a slightly higher ppi when screen size is a much simpler metric for people to understand. They tried competing in that manner when they went with 4.2" for the z10 rather than say a 4.5" display.

As far as going beyond 5", that seems highly unlikely until they can start to expand the bb10 userbase enough that it could support more niche screen sizes or form factors, if they were to experiment with a less standard new model then if anything it would be on the qwerty side of things since that is their own niche already.

I willing to consider any device produced in the 5 inch range. Looking forward to the rumored Z50 at 5.2. But I also hope they make a Z10 successor in the 4 inch range of which I'm more then happy with.

Would also be cool to see BBRY produce something similar to the ASUS PadPhone. Which is a much better idea them doing another PlayBook/Tablet device.

However I draw the line at a 6 inch BBRY phone. This to me is the point where a phone ends and a tablet begins. Phablets are not cool.

Love the size of both the Z10 and Z30, presently own a Z10, and if they ever made a successor to it, I think 4.6 range would be cool. Would not be too much of a jump, but would be slightly smaller then the Z30, and I would grab one in an instant!

The Z30 screen size is purely perfect. Unless you have baby hands it's the best all around. For both typing and media. 5.2 shouldn't mess that up. I'm not sure if I would go bigger though. The Note 3 is a compromise for my daily use.

I don't want as for me my Z10 gives a perfect fit for my hand. But still wants to put my hands on the Z30.
I also agree that there is a market for 5.5 above display phones but BlackBerry still needs to advertise them otherwise no use.

    A proud Z10 owner.

To me the size of the Z30 would be as far as I would go and even that might be pushing it. I think the size of the Z10 is perfect, but if anything just slightly under the five mark would be the ultimate for me

Before using the Z30 I would have absolutely said NO, but now that I've had the 5 inch Z30, I could see people getting use to a 5.5 or a 5.7, but anything bigger would be crazy.

Ultimately, priority number one should be selling what's in the lineup now IMO.
