im gonna get one. but the thing that bothers me right now is the back i really wanted to glass weave from the q10. chen himself said this would be a phone crafted from premium matereals. when did that all change?
I just can't wrap my head around this. You are going to spend a few hundred dollars on an antiquated device because blackberry didn't make your battery replaceable?

Almost right but it won't be on an antiquated phone, it will be on one with powerful features;specs , handwriting and a removable battery known as note 4. plus an used Bold in good condition as my work phone.

So if you are carrying around 2 phones anyway. One with killer specs and replaceable battery. Why not just get a classic or a q10 on the side instead of a bold. If your BlackBerry died I'm assuming you could use your note until you got home to charge it.
it looks like it is not a flagship and hopefully will be priced accordingly... also why do people call it q20 doesnt look like the q10 successor
It was a Q20... but Chen changed his mind... now it's a Classic. (so a Q20 might happen in the future..) - People need to stop calling the Classic a Q20 for gods sake.
Not at all. The Classic is a nice device and would be good one and a half year ago. But today is very late. Also the design is not so innovative, has something mixed from Bold and Q5.
The passport is the only chance for BB to compete with the wild competition.

The answer is simple money and apps, a good used Bold goes for around $ 100 bucks, I can port all my Curve apps to it without having to learn a new OS and/or rebuying some of them. I also really love the comfort of macros.
But I hope the Q20 sells well allthough I thought it would be a new flagship device.
^ so I don't think you were ever really in the market anyway for the classic for reasons outside of it fulfilling your needs. Sounds like you are happy with your setup.

At the first announcements I were but maybe it's my fault I expected something in line with the Bold just with better specs.
Anyway I still think it will sell better than the q10

What does a phone's ability to "compete" have anything to do with whether YOU will buy one?? Do you always think about those irrelevant things before you buy anything? I personally don't give one single f*** whether other people will like it or not before I buy things I will like...

I will buy it when it come out on Verizon. I have been waiting for the Classic since the day it was Announced and still waiting. I'm using the Q10 but I missed the toolbelt so much!
I know, but lower price definitely doesn't... That's my point...

The Q5 is pretty reliable and usable for a budget smartphone. Hasn't had the double-typing defect at least.

Besides that, the Classic/Q20 is the phone for me.
But I hope they release a Curve-style phone with a trackpad in the future, too. I might prefer the island keys and their clickiness. Would be a good opportunity to release a "BlackBerry-blue" version to harken back to the classics.

my purchase decision depends on the price. like above, the classic doesn't look like a 500 (sim free price) device. it certainly should not be priced anywhere near the passport imo. 400 and i'm in
Although this phone should had been released 3 years ago. YES!! I would still get one. I like BlackBerry qwerty phones. It's the only Company that makes a true productive phones. UNDERDOG or not, it's the best phone out there.
