Hey, Guys. Sorry if this is redundant. I know there have been Q10/Classic comparison threads, but wanted to see if I could get some current feedback...

Just gave up my Q10 (which I liked quite well) to Verizon in order to upgrade to a Classic.

Will I regret this at all? I assume not, but was hoping for some comforting replies.

    Thanks!

Kinda a personal question... and we don't know you.

But most users have said the Classic was what the Q10 should have been. A few liked the size or keyboard better, but again that's just personal preferences.

Never ever had regret about Q10 -> Classic transition. I just can't use BB10 device without trackpad or sensitive keyboard (Passport). Q10 has a very small screen and when you use it you cover half of that screen by your finger.

I haven't missed anything moving from the Q to the Classic. One potential advantage the Q had, and depending on your daily usage, is the removable battery. I'm on my phone all day and I never get below 30%, so swapping out the battery isn't a big deal for me.

The Classic is bigger, but not by much and as long as it can be used one handed (thanks a lot to the tool belt), that's what matters.

I went from a Q10 to a Classic. Simple answer, no, you will not even think about the Q10...

Classic is a bit bigger, and quite a bit heavier. I prefer Q10, even though the Classic is a more practical size.

I agree. The Q10's a great phone but the Classic is more like an ol' school BlackBerry. + The Q10 has been known to start double typing.

1 trillion likes on this one.. no matter how many updates they made. double typing still exist on Q10. sometimes its annoying specially when ur typing an important asap msgs.. Gladly I never experienced that with my classic and I like the keyboard a lot compare to Q10 though there's not much of a difference

I have a Q5 that I like quite well, but am upgrading to a Classic. On my business line, I still have a 9900. Going from the business line 9900 to the personal line Q5, I give up the Trackpad, BlackBerry Button, Answer and End buttons, all AKA "Toolbelt", but I gain BB10. It's a dilemma that is easily fixed. To have a BB10 keyboard device with a Toolbelt? Heaven. Fixed via an upgrade to a Classic. I will not look back and suspect you will not either, OP.

    Enjoy the UPGRADE!

The Classic is okay, but the toolbelt is not optimized for BB 10 (which is fundamentally a touch based OS) and it is weird user experience unlike either the Q10 or BBOS 7. If you haven't used either of those then you won't care

I went from a 9000 to 9900 to Q10 and now a Classic. I think you are perceiving it wrong. You may think that the toolbelt did more in OS7, but think about only what it did. What did you use the toolbelt for in OS7 that you cannot do in BB10? Not much really. But you perceive it as much more since there were less things you could do with the touchscreen so the toolbelt was proportionally more important in OS7. You can do just about everything with the toolbelt on BB10 as well. You just have to learn all of the shortcuts.

Okay, less than 24 hours with my Classic and I can answer my question- Nope, don't miss the Q10! This Classic is a very fine device.

Now, I just have to remember how to use the tool belt again. I find myself touching the screen too much.

    Thanks for your responses.

Only thing I miss is the removable battery (I had the spare battery/charging pack for the Q10 and loved that). But the battery life on my Classic seems to be much better than my Q. My mother in law bought me a Halo portable phone charger for Christmas. So I just keep that charged up and in my purse. I used the Q for SO long that sometimes I forget I have the tool belt. I do enjoy it when I remember to use it. Haha. I have only had the Classic for a little over a month.

I just upgraded my wife from her Q10 to the Classic and she's loving the extra screen real estate (albeit not much larger then the Q10), brightness of the LCD over amoled, wider keyboard and now having the tool belt back from her days with a 9900. The Classic is much more premium looking over the Q10 IMO and surprisingly loud on the speaker front as well. It's no Z30 speaker loud (cough cough , but definitely loader then the Q10.

    Look! It's Zedzilla30!

I had the Q10 for a year then moved to the Classic for about a year.

Only 2 things I missed from the Q10 are:

    1. Lighter weight when in one hand use.
    2. Removable battery.

What:s the mistake of Q10? Not having the trackpadl? Remember, specs wise, both are the same. And I almost forgot, one has a removable battery while the other does not have one.

hehehe then having removable battery makes Q10 better than passport?? Iphone 6s+..

It depends upon the user.. For U its a concern I guess with others its not.. I also dont get why some people hates non removable bat on devices were in majority of those who complains changes device almost yearly hehe

I guess better complain if u tend to use ur device for 4 to 5 years lool

happy user of both. Q10 is more compact and I have better cell reception especially where signal is difficult to get(mountains, our challet etc.).

I use Q10 while travelling on business journey and enjoy it's nice compact design. Dont miss clitoris much
