I love the bold without a case. I've been carrying the Q10 without a case for a while because I've switched the bezel to a silver one. Plus the Q10 is extremely durable.

The one thing I don't think I'd like about the q20 is the physically larger size, I'd prefer if the size was closer to the bold. A case makes it more of a turnoff for me. I know the trend is going back to larger sized phones but I've always liked the form factor of the bold for ease of slipping onto pockets and one handed use.

The screen size is not that important to me and I don't mind the 1:1 aspect.

As with all devices, each user will have his/her own preferences. Case, caseless, holster, skin, an so on.

I was carrying my bold without a case, same with my Z10 now. I don't like cases, it's safe in my pockets

    I'll carry the Q20 naked also !

I don't like cases. They ruin the design of any phone and they make it harder to handle it.

To me, phones are tools, I use them and if they break, I'll just buy a new one - simple as that. Usually that doesn't happen until I would have bought a new one for technical reasons anyway.

So my 9790 has hit the ground several times - nothing. My Q10 has hit the ground several times too - cracked screen. Well it happens, and I use it anyway until the Q20 arrives. And no, I won't buy a case for that one either.

I'm the exact opposite.. I WANT the most resilient case I can find. I have my Z10 wrapped up in a Survivor case because I KNOW I drop them, and I work in hazardous environments. Therefore, to protect my tool investment, I protect it appropriately.

The downside is that it is not easily recognizable as a BB10 device, until I start swiping around on it. Then people start asking what droid skin I have... and I have laugh and laugh and laugh.

I'm replacing my screen next week along with a new silver bezel and a new keyboard.

However, I will still refuse to use a case. I just have to work on not being clumsy. I was lucky with my 9900 because when I flung it in the air and it landed face-down, there was only a small chip in the corner of the glass. Obviously, asphalt is a lot less forgiving.

Ouch!! Lol. The amazing thing is I'd bet the touch digitizer still works fine! ??

I use holsters and various charging cradles and car kit cradles so a protective case would get in the way. My phones have paid the price tho. Shattered two 9930 screens which amazingly just kept working till I got around to replacement. (was hoping the touch digitizer would die & leave me in peace but that's another story). Several of the 9930's keys were dislodged by gravel, once, but I was able keep working by poking into the space with a pen.

I still suffer the joke here in the office for crushing a foam cup of HOT coffee all over my Z while answering a VERY important call. The Z never recovered. lol.

Yup, thankfully everything still works fine!

I'm also glad that it stopped putting glass in my finger

That's always a dilemma for me.
I prefer the look and the feelings of a naked phone (especially with my Q10), but the scratches that can happens makes me crazy.

Actually, i'm using the BlackBerry holster, but it's not very comfortable in my pocket (I don't wear large jean's)

Will not use a case on this baby .I have always bought cases and never used them found that they add some weight and take away from the natural look and feel of the device but yes always a screen protector because screens are hard to replace.

I clumsily dropped/flung my Q10 out of my pocket in Lowes a couple weeks ago. I have a small scratch on a corner. For the most part the phone landed flat on the back or front I don't remember.

Phone works great except sometimes it reboots. Ironically it did not reboot or even turn off when I dropped it 6 feet. Unreal.

    A) guess the best thing is just to wait and see. Probably will come down to preference and not any real protection need.

    B) why do you have one million question marks in the thread title? Your personal style?

I will use a case. I prefer not to have to worry about dropping it. I actually often prefer a case as they often add grip to an otherwise slippery phone. In fact I find my z30 easier to use with its case. I sometimes take it off to clean and find the phone harder to type with without its case. Probably just the case (excuse the pun) of getting used to it.

I always use a case for my tech as it helps with resale value and for peace of mind

I didn't use a case for the last few months with my z10. I like the holster and you can't use a case with that. Also loved the holster with the Torch.

I am also of the opinion that a case should not ruin the experience of the device. I usually use a case at first to protect my investment but after a while I just give up and use it the way it was meant to be.
I do have a case on my passport for now. Not sure how long that will last.

I have always used a case. I get my Classic today, and I've already been looking at cases. I'm hoping more case options become available...I'm just going to have to be extra careful until then.

Whether you use a case or a not is a personal preference. If you take care of it and take care not to drop it you will be fine.

I've always been a Otterbox/Life Proof kind of guy.

Since getting the Classic, I will not be getting any kind of case for it. Between the glass screen protector (haven't got one yet, only a clear one on the way) and the OEM holster, I'm good.

My Passport will also be outfitted the same way...

Try this. Use the phone naked when needed, but carry it around in your hands or in your jacket pocket a Blackberry pouch. Note this is NOT the holster.
