Because devices take a while to make. Because carriers have their own road maps. Holiday season is a big part of planning. And yes going head to head with the iPhone is a factor and usually avoided by the little guys. All suck but it's a reality.

I don't buy the January release rumor. Leaked pictures are just starting to arrive almost as frequent as they do for the Passport, which will be out within two weeks.
So I have no doubts we'll have the Classic under our christmas trees this year.

I think they just mean the announcement of what to expect with the Blackberry Classic will also be made tomorrow. I seriously doubt there would be an actual release tomorrow. The Wall Street Journal is quoting a Dec release and there is also the fact that we haven't seen any testing reports surface online like they have for the Passport.
