    continuing on, if an app was updated, eg youtube says update available; install now or later. would it have to be patched again or would updating it from the app or play store keep it running smoothly

    You have to patch every version.

    blackberry (except priv) doesnt have a hardware to run the play store app efficiently. I also have an android and the same apps work much much better in terms of speed and performance.
    never the less its quite amazing to have the apps in the bb!!

    I have installed play store from cobalt. But am not using the apps downloaded from it.

    Unnecessarily the play store pops up for app updates.

    Is it possible to uninstall the playstore? if yes what is the process.

    you have to uninstall the play store - but your apps that you have installed thro the playstore may not work after you have uninstalled the playstore

    Thnaks cobalt, its seems ive leanrt the hard way, only install what you need because my passport was only running for 6 or so hours a day with excessive heating up, so i wiped my phone and only have what i need, amazon kindle depletes battery like mad.

    You can't search for it. You need the direct link.

    Use your BlackBerry browser with desktop mode turned off. Reboot after install.

    This is ONLY for OS2876 (sw2836).
