Why does Blackberry Assistant accept typed but not dictated inputs
I have Blackberry Assistant on my Blackberry Classic with all updates current. It performs as it should when I type the inputs but it often fails when I dictate the same inputs.
For example, when in the blackberry assistant application, if I key in "Find nearest Walmart store" it takes me to "nearby places and directions" then displays search results showing the local Walmart stores. I select one of the stores using the touch screen, it then displays a map showing the location of the selected store, I then touch the "go" icon at the foot of the map and receive voice instructions and route map to get there. All is as it should be.
On the other hand, when I touch the microphone button in the BA application and dictate "find nearest Walmart store", the words "find nearest Walmart store" display on the screen but I then a message is displayed and spoken which says "The voice request was not understood". So my voice input is received and reproduced correctly but it is not understood by the device.
All settings seem correct. The dictation function works properly when I dictate texts and emails. What is going on here? Does anyone have any suggestions?
