I want to get back to using a blackberry classic. I have Verizon and want to make the jump but I don't know if it is worth it. Is anyone out there doing it now?
I used it for 2 months while waiting out KEYone's multiple delays and my PRIV going haywire. For calling and texting (T-Mobile) never been better. For everything else - Internet, banking, social media - it sucked. Basically having no app support shows it realistically can't hang in 2017 just as bad as when I left it in 2016. Even after updating all my apps, only about a 1/3 worked properly or passable.

This is a very realistic and honest answer to OP questions.
Being less than honest to people considering a BlackBerry who don't know any better is why many people won't give a KEYone or Motion a chance. For people not on BB10 already, it's dead. They already use Android/IOS devices and they just want to know if a device will perform the same way. Don't push a dead or dying OS like it will ever come back. It's over. Let it go....
I definitely use one Classic on a daily basis and everything works pretty good and whenever an app stops working I immediately circumvent, replace or eliminate. Opinions vary from person to person and that is ok, I respect different points of view completely. What works for some doesn't necessarily work for others but I know that there is no way I will buy a BlackDroid, the essence of what it was is totally gone imho but then again that's just me old school all the way !
i bought a classic and it's arriving in a week or so. I have had passport, PRIV and KEYone, but wanted to get the feeling of a toolbelt so decided to get a classic as a secondary/weekend device. my passport works but it has its wear an tear so nice to have a brand new bb10. I like KEYone in many ways, hub is getting better and so on, but BB10 hub is just a dream
Same. I like the KeyOne, it's a capable device with a great keyboars, but I missed the Hub and the flow of BB10. I'm currently using my old Z10 but considering to buy a new Classic or send my p9983 to repair (sim-tray). I prefer the small form factor of the q10, but can't find it new for a fair price.
I bought a Classic 18 months ago and have gone back and forth between it and an iPhone 6Plus. Currently back on the Classic as I just love the kb and hub. I don't do social media, etc so I don't miss not having it on my mobile device. I have an iPad with a cellular so I take it on trips to give me extra access to apps, etc if I need/want it.
I still use a Classic with AT&T as my only phone for personal and work. I'm pretty pleased with it still. I use a few apps from the Amazon appstore, but mostly I use the browser. Going to websites through the browser is not much different than the apps as most websites are tailored to mobile devices. I set the websites I use a lot as favorites and then make them shortcuts on my home screen. It pretty much feels like clicking an app icon. I figure any apps I cannot get just saves me from wasting time, lol.
As an app dev I've had some androids and iPhone 7 Plus along with passport and classic which are my main phones by the moment. I sold androids and iPhone. Nothing could beat pkb. Classic is awesome, I plan to use it until keys fall out.
Funny I should stumble on this as I just ordered a Classic. My Passport, which I LOVE took a noise dive and sim card tray needs to be replaced but I can't see myself putting anymore money into it, especially since I plan to replace with new BB Keyone early next year. So I saw this as a good opportunity to try out the Classic until then, as I don't use many apps anyway. I didn't know that the hub was gone on the new BB...psst
KEYone - daily driver since launch and am still on my original with original screen
Classic - still use daily in 2018.
I recently sold my Classic here on CB and missed it so much that I bought another.
Disclaimer, I've never used social media (ie: Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, etc, etc), I don't game on my phone, I don't listen to music (streaming or local storage) on my phone, and I rarely watch videos on my phone other than the brief video clip here and there. So that said, the Classic works well for me.
