Photos and games are not my thing, but yeah I would like a Classic II with higher-volume removable battery and up-to-date CPU, GPU and RAM.

Doesn't this phone appeal to the legacy users who are **** hurt at the lack of trackpads on first gen. Os10

BlackBerry gave you your damn trackpad, send end, etc keys, now you want the specs...

A classic with passport specs = $699. Imagine the complaints then

Current specs is actually OK, provided BlackBerry keep optimizing BB10 in the next two years.

Just drop the price to USD 250, similar to Z3's

    ... Z30STA100-2/10.3.1.1154 ...
Blackberry will definitely keep improving the OS and optimizing it... it's come a LONG way since Z10!!! .. I know lol

I think in time you will see discounts so if you can't afford now.. six months from now you could see more affordable price...

I don't think BlackBerry will handle 2 different high end production lines. Its plan and market feedback confirmed that Passport will be the high end one. Don't think BlackBerry will handle 2 similar products with only different screen size.

I think the specs are fine. Don't forget the Classic target audience is corporate users who are looking for a productivity tool at low cost to get the work done and productively.

Blackberry did not intend this phone for consumers who wants a high performance processor to play Angry birds or Clash of Clans.

I like these specs, but I might prefer to keep the 3.5" screen just to keep the overall size down. :-)

    Q10Bold,
Am just curious, what makes the removable battery so important? I start with a Storm, Bold, then back to the Storm 2, they were all removable and taken out many times. I have now a Z30, for a year and a bit and have never required to do a reboot, it just works, every day, like it is supposed to.

Specs don't matter for classic users.

But it does for Z30 and Passport users. It only makes sense to make Z50 and Passport II first.

    +1

Classic's form factor is best for me, I can reach anywhere on the device without a problem and do one hand tyyping. Passport is too big, so a Classic with high end specs would be really cool. When I switch to an N5 from time to time, I can really see the performance difference.

Yes. There are some minor improvements, features, and consistency changes that could improve the Classic. But there are two things holding the Classic back from being the most efficient phone in the market:

Specs (processors), and a double OS infancy. BB10 is not even mature by OS standards, and the added Toolbelt functionality is practically brand new. A bit more bug fixing and polish would be great, but already the Classic's form factor is so efficient that the processors can bog down and lag if you are heavily multitasking and issuing commands as fast as you can. Most of the time the Classic is fine, but if you are like me you like to use your phone in bouts of efficient frenzy. The Classic can't quite keep up at times.

It feels like the Q10 pre-3.1 was specced ok for its capabilities. The Z30 seems specced pretty well for what you can do with it. The Passport specs seems very nicely matched for its interface and OS. But the efficiency of the Classic form and features outpaces its processors.

I'm not even looking for the best and latest specs for the Classic--it doesn't need the best and the latest. It's still a phone built for Enterprise bulk sales, which need to keep cost inputs as low as possible. Chen said as much over and over again. A Classic for the discerning individual BlackBerry user would be specced like the Passport. Actually, it IS the Passport. We haven't seen an individual consumer market Classic yet.

OS10 has grown, so the processors should grow in proportion. Yes, 10.3.1 is more efficient with power and cpu usage than previous builds... But its capabilities are also greater, especially with keyboard devices.

All things considered, I'm pretty impressed with the Classic as it is. Can you imagine one with boosted resolution, speakers like the Z30's, and the Passport's processors? Yes please.

C'mon Chen, let's go for a Classic Pro along with 10.4!
