I'd suggest you take a look at this thread: http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe.../#post11229224
Thanks but I'm trying to gauge how many people are actually converting from the legacy devices which was the intention of the Classic, that thread doesn't really help.

BB9900 to classic for me, waited for it even though I was due for upgrade months ago
In short, or long, depending on how you take it.
I am very interested in this as well.
Personally I am of the opinion that not a lot of legacy users should have switched over.
The form-factor is just too dead, especially combined with the lacklustre ecosystem.
I hope that I am wrong though. BlackBerry needs some converts.
I did, I hold on to my 9900 for 3.5 years, switched out the keyboard twice and a close friend of mine convinced me to give Classic a try. So far happy of the new device, but it takes 1 or 2 extra click for the same action performed on 9900. And the lack of BIS mail filtering is a little disadvantage, but figure a way around it
i switched from Q 10 to OS 7 for many reasons mainly for the tasking , easy and fast to do things on OS 7 .Emailing , calender ,sync to Pc and even in worse reception conditions you can do all.
its an OS you can relay on .
OS 10 has a better battery but its not an issue to me , you always have time at the office or in the car to re charge.
go for it

im switching from bb 9900 to a bb passport, my dad and brothers are switching from 9900 to the classic
I went to BB10 on the Q10 coming from the 9900, and the OS is like night and day! The only thing I was missing was the tool belt, which I got back when I got the Classic. My wife was using my old 9900 until we both got Classic's, and Ive heard her say she likes BB10 much better..especially more appealing to the eye. NOW...it IS missing a few small customizing features that can be fixed with an update, but nothing major that is a deal breaker IMO. Some people don't like the Hub..simply don't use it if you don't like it. You can always just tap the text app or message button..etc. Several ways to check messages, the Hub just puts them all in one spot, more or so for handling alot of social networking. I'm personally "off the grid" so I don't have to worry about a ton of notifications from social apps. Just texts, phone calls, reminders and alarms for notifications for me!
Posted on my New BlackBerry Classic
Hiya.
Came from 9900 used for several years. Classic is not as quick to work with, too many clicks and swipes etc but the keyboard and screen along with the jump forward in technology makes it a worthwhile change.

I love my 99 but 2 spare batteries and 3-4 battery pulls is getting ridiculous. Bought a Classic on launch made several mistakes on set up and loading the leaked OS.
Overall happy with the Classic it has some short comings in BB10 but the leak fixed fixes most if the bugs.
BBM10 sucks for me. (don't ask, search within)
This "will be" one the best Qwerty devices.

Oh yea, there is def a learning curve coming from OS7 to BB10! After I got used to it, I couldn't see myself going back to a OS7 device!!

I was from ios8 ( iphone 6), first BB phone and it does have a learning curve, love the classic, esp the keyboard and the shortcuts. The main downside to me was the difference in app ecosystem and the camera, other than that love the classic !
Can you elaborate on what the leak has fixed? Thanks
I tried the classic for 2 days and played with it for hours and i didn't like it. I went back to the bold 9900. Reasons why: the battery didn't last that long and by being non removable you can't carry a spare. Big mistake on the design team. Second i don't know why but i couldn't back it up on my computer, it just didn't work. Third every thing is a little slower. I like that in the OS7 you can put files on your desktop so can have quick access to them. Here you have to put them in evernote first. I like that i can separate my work and fun email address and put an icon for each on the desktop and so know when i have work to check and when it's personal. The hub confuses this separation. I like the hardware upgrades and bigger screen but i think a hardware upgraded bold 9900 would be fine too (so better camera with auto focus, front facing camera, and better processor, GPS that can read the directions out loud) I am waiting for the OS 10 to be better. And if the OS doesn't start looking more like the 7 OS then to android i'm switching if i can get a keyboard attachment. I like that skype works on the classic and i like that there are more apps. But the GPS app wasn't very good on the classic and auto correct hides your text box in facebook. So you're texting blind.
Well the battery life was initially a concern for me when I first got the device but after using it more than 2 days it now lasts me a day and a half. But I charge it at night anyways

Switched from a 9900 and I love the Classic so far, battery life for me is amazing. Considered the Passport but it was just a little to hard to handle for me (smaller hands).
Ha! Exactly the same with me! :) Only i miss fully functioning Viber (instead of Android version I had to install for the lack of native app)
Switched from an iPhone 5. Loving it so far! Best two things about it are the keyboard and battery life. No regrets :)
Hi there, am not posting too often but thought it's worth it this time..:-) I came also from a long time BlackBerry use, had a short rendezvous with a small HTC...wuaah, quickly got a second hand 9790 again. After that battery contacts died off it was just in time that the Classic was finally released at T-Mobile Germany. My wife has had a Q5 for some months now - I never liked the OS 10 on that one.
Now, the Classic (well, due to the 10.3.1) is way better than the official 10.2 on the Q5. However...as many write, speed is slower than on OS7. Too many swipes etc and I also find myself not using the trackpad as often as on the 9790. It clicks a bit too hard for my liking, and is a bit too small even though I got small hands.
I guess things will become better with OS updates since OS7 has come a long way, too (am on official 10.3.1.1154) What I miss most currently is long clicking the menu button to open the task manager. It IS just quicker that way even if many write "to get used to the new system" etc. Also I'd love to edit/shorten the delay times of long press functions like shortcuts etc.
What I found the other day was -, the browser, when opening the various tabs you can close them with the track pad by going right to the cross and don't have to use the touch screen.
And the phone is heavy compared to the 9790. Yes, you'll get used to it but I think to feel it in my right hand shoulder...getting old I guess.
When I had my faithful dusty 9790 in my hand again, it really felt small...so, I'll stay with the Classic. No double typing btw. Battery lasts about 36h having switched off swipe to wake, locations, bluetooth etc. if I don't need it. Speed (processor) it sufficient, I think the speed of opening apps will get faster with OS releases.
Keyboard feels great, got to get used to the bigger/wider size though.

Just today, one client of mine made the switch. And not just from his BB9900 to Classic, but to an iPhone 6+ too.
To put it shortly - we spent 4 hours just playing with Classic. iPhone only saw iCloud account sync being turned off. My client loves Classic! Blend and screen sharing blew him away, as did Pictures app and the Hub.
