Well since on any device which does that it doesn't actually turn off the device.

Bedside mode with radios off is basically the same result.

Except that there is no way to schedule bedside mode to run automatically is there?

That's true. Personally that makes no difference to me, I suppose you would set it on when you go to bed and once your alarm turns on you set it off, but I suppose some people prefer the auto function.

There is a kinda work around proposed here

And if you are running 10.3.2 its possible now to chose which scheduled meetings are gonna be using meeting mode and which ones are not. So there you go .

If you want to turn off or customise your notifications on a schedule, just enable meeting mode, configure the profile, and set a recurring meeting in your calendar.

The way I used to use it on BBOS devices back in the day was to a) stretch out battery life in case I forgot to plug my phone in before going to bed, and b) turn off notifications.

Manually turning on bedside mode isn't a great work around for that case, because if I could remember to do that, I could have remembered to plug it in anyways

You'll have to change your patterns then. Modern mobile OSes don't have sleep modes.

I miss it too, don't want an alarm or my phone to stay on in any form when I'm sleeping. Just like it to turn off and on when I set it to.

Have a look at the old Unix Cron aka Bron:

A Cron for BlackBerry therefore called "Bron"

May that solves your missing automation
