Whatsapp stopped supporting my classic. App is very much there and it's receiving messages but typing and sending have been disabled with a message that this phone is not supported!!

So this will remain my call device now. Glad I had already bought a priv couple of months back!!

So OP still had the wa version that stated shutting down date is the 31.12.16?

That would somehow make it quite possible that the current version is really stopping working not too long after 30.06 ....darn!

Disabling key functionality makes sense. Rather than abruptly cutting users off from messages that might be crucial in some public safety way, you disable outgoing messages in order to make it extremely inconvenient to use the app but not impossible - you can always call or SMS the person you are trying to reach. I wouldn't be surprised if this is what the app does permanently.

Here I was (still am a bit) hoping it'll go like facebook were the old app still runs on my Classic. Maybe the android version will run on mine...if not at least we have the Mercury on the rise.
