Yes, download from here. It should work fine without the fixer.

You said it should work, but it does not work because whatapp wants to update to the latest version right after installing it. I can not get past this step.

When it asks you to update, what happens when you hit OK? Let it download the latest version and then go to your downloads folder, open the WhatsApp APK and tap "update". I think that's what I did when an update was available.

WOW, with the current version works correctly. Bye-bye Iphone, welcome BB10!
In December 2018 I was forced to give up BB because we could only use whatapp for written messages.
    Thanks Ben.

But how is it possible on OS BB10 / BB10 devices?

I mean: Is this current, stable, new latest version the third party or the official app of WA?

Also does this app WA have the end-to-end encryption feature?

If not, how can the WA app bypass the WA security?

Lol, there hasn't been an official BB10 WhatsApp since late 2017.

Only option is the Android apk, and has been for the last year and a half.

    BB10 has Android Runtime 4.3.
Install the current, stable, new latest Android version and you have WhatsApp on BB10.

Impossible to have the BB10 native app for WhatsApp since it was EOLd and dropped 1.5 years ago.

What does that have to do with BB10 native version of WhatsApp today? Load the Android version and hope it lasts till BB10 stops breathing. I'm surprised it's still functioning at this point.

Independent WA client for Sailfish/Meego was based on old WA protocol used by Nokia S40 devices, which was discontinued by WA at the end of 2018. This independent WA client development also suffered from intentional blocking by WA - WA simply does not want any independent client at all. So AFAIK now there is no way to have any independent WA client at any OS this way.

But. Couple of months ago WA started support for KaiOS (fork of discontinued Firefox OS). WA for KaiOS has quite limited functionality (i.e. no voice calls) but according to KaiOS principles there is (has to be) available the "source code" (yes, quite simplyfiing, I know). So probably someone skilled enough could be able to reverse engineer it and "port" it to other OSes.

There is no need to do this for BB10 devices, because Android WA works fine on BB10. And it should last for some time - WA announced discontinuation of Android Gingerbread (ver 2.3.7) support in February 2020 afaik. So support for BB10 with Android 4.3 runtime should last even longer. Fingers crossed.

Not working for me. It hangs at the green circle loading screen. This goes on and on. Version 2.18 worked until 19th of May but now im forced to update.
Despite of that I get the message that I need googleplay services which are not supported on my device.

Maybe it no longer works (I don't use WA so cannot test it). Maybe others can chime in.

The last updated was pushed via Yalp Store, so I updated that way.
Are you on the latest OS?
Maybe install Accounts Cleaner and make sure the WhatsApp account actually gets deleted before trying to re-install.

There was no account for whatsapp. But that cleaner app is great. Everything from Cobalt is installed and works and the OS is latest.

I updated just now to version 2.19.159 (452826) and this version seems broken - the app just crashes. Let me go back one version and see if it still works.
