I'm just curious as to what the BlackBerry Classic users are using on their phones.

All my banking and social media apps are native or work without Google Play.

    Edit: "without Google Play"

The only apps that I really needed from google play is KakaoTalk. One of my important social groups are using it. Other than that, I'm good.

Im just tried to use cobalts method and go it working but I get annoying popups that say something about google play services.

    1) Can I fix that?

    2) The Facebook app from the playstore won't open. How can I fix this? I need Facebook on my phone and the BB version doesn't work either

The question might be more interesting if you ask: "What Android apps do you use regularly that you could not find on Amazon?".

The hangup for the common/casual user is not so much the lack of Google Play Services (at least at the moment), but the lack of the Google Play Store (although they are two parts of a unbreakable package).

I have about 50 Android apps running, of which 5 require Services, but all but six can't be found on Amazon.

The aforementioned casual user has no interest in sideloading app stores (or clients) and the like.

I think some of the available apps on Snap require Gplay?

Maybe the Moderator can change the title?

Yes there are some. As a percentage, they are growing all the time as Google is wrestling back control over the Android ecosystem.

Are you using only BlackBerry apps on a Passport?? Do you have better battery life than the same device with installed Android apps? Also, does the device top right corner get overheated the same way as other Passport device?

im afraid location services do not work as the entire android runtime is not active on the bbos devices. Keep that in mind. Google play services does not work on bbos10.

What? Of course it does. Not out of the box mind you, but with Cobalt's modified apps.

Nada. Nope. Zilch. No risk of me installing any of that on my device.

Hangouts. I want long distance to landlines for free via Google, I use it on a spare old Android phone via WiFi when I travel. Skype works as an alternative for now.
