Do you guys think it will be lower or higher than the Passport? Any guesses on what the starting price of the Classic will be?

Um, definitely lower than the Passport, but no specs, no nothing yet, so no telling what it might cost. Better to wait a little while more to find out more details. Give it another month, we should be flooded with Classic details then...

My best educated guess is $429 off contract. $399 is an outside possibility.

I assume more than 400 just because the BlackBerry Q10 and the BlackBerry Bold are priced at 400 at ShopBlackBerry.com

Why would they price it the same as older models, especially the BlackBerry Bold running a dated OS?

I think 400 sounds reasonable -ish, but I doubt it'll be that.

Because those didn't sell well and Chen is supposed to be smarter. Plus this phone was made at foxxcon. All assumptions

I'm guessing 349. I know it's low but remember the moto g is at 179 and the moto x I think is at 350. So I think they might have to at least hit those marks or they will get beaten up bad in the reviews.

Sounds to me like a lot are hoping for something for nothing philosophy. Not going to happen! Its an upgrade to the 99XX and Q10 so will be at least as much if not more than the Q I would think....

The strategy has failed for BlackBerry so far. The hardware and internals from the q10 are now an additional year older and thus cheaper . I wouldn't be surprised if they messed up pricing but I am assuming its going to be priced to sell.

My educated guess, based on euro pricing info from Czech online mag mobilenet.cz (which actually get Passport price almost right) is US $399.

It will be less than the Passport, it has to be.

As for the older phones, their prices will drop to make room for the new.

On contract, sense they screwed up and made the Passport $250, the Classic can come in at $200.

Seeing as how the Passport came out at $599 USD (but $699 CAD...), my guess is that the Classic will come out at $499 USD and $599 CAD (Canadians being kicked in the nuts again..... but I'll still buy a Classic!)

    Hello spork141

Do you happen to have the link that stated the Classic/Q20 is going to be made by Foxconn.

I thought this verson was to be made by BB and another version at a later date would be made by Foxconn

Seeing as the 'Classic' is budget i doubt this phone is made in Canada or mexico.... this phone is made in china via Foxconn it's very obvious.

Because that video of the guy holding an actual classic is Chinese and he has a lot of leaks of this phone via his Chinese twitter known as weibo.

everything points to foxconn it's very obvious... how else would a random Chinese worker in china get a hold of a test model?

    it's not rocket science lol

I say $499 since it is rumored to have the same internals as the z30 and the z30 is $499 on shopblackberry.

It's not going to be priced for budget... that's the Z3 (even though not available in North America). Just take a look at BlackBerry's current offerings:

    $299 - Z10
    $399 - Bold 9900
    $399 - Q10
    $499 - Z30
    $499 - Classic
    $599 - Passport

The Classic fits in nicely at $499. I don't believe it's meant to be a flagship device like the Passport but I also don't think it will be targeted to budgeted users either. Originally, the old guard at BlackBerry built the Q10 as the bridge to BB10 but it was an entirely different "arena" to play in and instead of being a bridge, it was an island on it's own, separate from the old BBOS. The Classic is the true bridge for users to get on the BB10 platform.

If I end up being wrong though, I'll eat a bowl of blackberries

I'll say 299 anything higher and it bombs, smaller screen and "Classic" keyboard with toolbelt, not many consumers looking for that, they are about big screens and apps, except for me

$299, so cheaper than Bold 9900 sells for and about the same as the Z3? Yah, that sounds realistic...

My guess is $599/$499 like how the Passport is $699/$599. Don't see it having specs near the Passport so doubt it'll be as much.
