Below is what was taken direct from the BB website. It is so nice to see that nothing ever changes.....they announce the Classic is done yet on the BB website it is on sale, no word that it is a dead product. Better yet is you look at the whole ad, they use the word " the phone you trust". Sorry to say you can't say the same thing about the company.

PS many companies sell closeout items and will tell you up front that the product is discontinued. Not BB, who cares the customer is a moron and we clear out remaining stock..........

    WOOF!

BlackBerry is a business, and they sell phones. If you are done buying their products, just move on.

The word fool comes to mind. First many and I mean many firms sell products and will place right on the web site discontinued model. That's what honest firms do, your response shows what is wrong with BB. Truth or facts have no business on this forum. Amazing....response.

First I don't, I use BB and I have invested a large amount of money over the years with my company. It just pains me to see a good company so badly run and so dishonestly, that's it. I also hate to see people ripped off, the first time buyer for example. no excuse for that one.

I don't worry about BB any more as my company is moving on to another handset provider. It just bothers me that a large company could be so dishonest. That's it, the first time buyer may not read info about the company, and may think they might want to jump in. Great but a least let them know....that's all.

Know what exactly? That they only have two more upgrades planned for their phone? How many upgrades does Samsung promise you? I have a Nexus 6 so I know how many upgrades I'm getting. I think you need to just relax and let it go.

Grover is right. No phone manufacturer gives their buyers a guaranteed number of updates.

One last thought, before replying try reading the post. I am talking about dead hardware. When Apple discontinued the I phone 4S, it clearly stated on its web site the phone was discontinued. LG same thing................Google same thing..........BlackBerry nope. Come buy a great phone.....one you can trust!

I don't think Mr. Chen said specifically it was discontinued. Just that they couldn't make any more because the parts were obsolete.

Splitting hairs I guess. And either way, unlikely to spur a surge in sales.

It's just out of production. You can still buy one and it works and there are still security updates coming along apparently

Apple products discontinued are out of stock for a loooooooong long time. So no BS please. And you gotta make a serious research through their site to find the info on DC products.

Well, there does not stand "discontinued", because it is not discontinued.
    Do not see any problem.

The Classic and the Leap are still being bought by fleets - thus no price reductions. The Passports on the other hand, probably are beginning to smell like old fish and I would imagine them being discounted even more before the end of summer.

BlackBerry will continue to sell phones for the highest price that they can get. They will not stop until the buyers stop.

I understand where OP is coming from. It would be interesting to know what Apple was doing with regard to selling the 5S the day before or the weeks before the SE came out.
