It maybe, but I received mine today and it runs great. I wouldn't know the difference in the softwares tho.
I DO know the hub looks different than the Q10 did when my daughter had it.

So then it sounds like the Verizon SIM card is masking the additional, non-US LTE bands in this phone. Just like AT&T SIMs do with their Passport.

Stayed home today to receive the phone. fedex site said they tried to deliver and nobody was home. How amazingly infuriating. Customer service rep said they called driver to Re deliver. Nothing yet.

Leaving on a work trip 830am tomorrow

Might be, but Verizon phones are now all unlocked out of the box, so maybe someone could pop in a tmo or att sim and see if that changes.

Actually, that's a good idea. A SIM from TMO might unmask the hidden bands. It did on the AT&T Passport.

Soo...who's got a Verizon Classic and a TMO SIM? Haha

Waiting for my classic..., ditched (thats a harsh word) my beloved z30 for the droid turbo last year, I just wasn't satisfied with the updates from verizon and the performance of the android apps on the z30. The email management on the droid has been a disaster though. (a little better now thanks to the microsoft outlook app) Ordered the classic as a second device for work to fix that problem, tried it out in the AT&T store, and got that warm fuzzy feeling reminding me of my old Bold 9930

Yeah, I've seen that but in another document, they list LTE band 3 as well, and hint at a 2600 MHz band (most likely LTE, b7.)

So if anybody has access to a non-Verizon SIM card that they could put in this phone (preferably TMO's,) that might unhide the additional bands.

When mine comes today I can put an att sim card in it. Would that help you or not?

If you have a TMO (or Straight Talk on TMO, etc.) SIM, that might be a little better given that AT&T does its own masking. But in the absence of anything else, I'll take an AT&T SIM. Thanks.

Got to love Verizon packaging. The FedEx box let in some moisture, so all the papers were wet at some point! Luckily the Blackberry box is thick enough.

That's FedEx's fault. If there is moisture at point of delivery or in transit, they are supposed to wrap/protect. I don't think anyone would expect Verizon or any other carrier or phone manufacturer to make waterproof packaging.

Maybe you're right. But I don't think it would be the end of the world for VZW to wrap a $400 smartphone in plastic.

Anyways, the Classic is awesome. A little heavy, but I'm impressed.

YES, I just thought to log into it after I saw yoir post, mine has not been working on my Q since i did all the 10 3 updates, but it does work on my new CLASSIC!!!!

Have I mentioned how great this thing is so far... I wasn't so excited about the trackpad, but it is useful in many situations, and I am impressed with how well they integrated it into the os.

The screen is fantastic, I don't know what all the complaining about this is crisper and more readable than the Q 10 IMHO.

It is bigger than I really need, but all phones are too big now so I will adjust, I'm sure.

It might also be considered top heavy....i am still adjusting.

I agree with you about the trackpad. So many little things that it does so well and I'm really liking all the rest of the tool belt buttons too. I feel like I can do things even faster than I was used to on the Q and also agree on the LCD screen.

It's almost night and day. I do not find it top heavy too much but coming from like Q like you the Classic seems so much more built. I would almost say the Q feels like a toy compared to this bad boy.

I also loaded 10.3.1.2267 from an auto loader before I set everything up and its kicking ***.

Received and working on completing setting it up. It feels good in the hand. The keyboard works great! There's a lot more goodness to share, but I'm still exploring. I'm not sure if my exploring will ever end, though. Just enjoying the phone so far.
