I was trying to find a way to set an alert on my Verizon Classic once I use a certain amount of data each month and, per BB's manual, it looks like that setting is supposed to be available under the Device Monitor - Data Usage Setting (in the menu). But the only menu option I see is Search - that item isn't available on my phone. The only options I see at the bottom of the screen are Battery, Storage, CPU, and Memory + the menu that only has Search (which is where the Data Usage Setting is supposed to be. In fact, I don't anywhere I can view my data usage at all!

Am I the only Verizon user missing this option or did Verizon remove this option from their Classic software?

I use to have the option but think it was removed from some of the newer OS's. Not sure if it was by bb or VZW. But you're not alone.

You set an alert in the My Verizon Mobile app.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like I can't use BB10 to monitor my data - that is surprising, considering they allow it on Android and others. Thanks for the replies...

Get an Unlimited data plan and you won't have to monitor your data

Must be a Verizon thing. I have .1581 on a Z10 and a Vzw Z30. The Z10 has usage data available but the Z30 does not. Go figure.

I'm running leak 10.3.1 2708 on vzw Z30. Option no longer there for me either. Used to be.

FWIW, you can also configure VZW itself to send you text and email alerts. It may not be as flexible as you want, but you can set it to alert you at 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% of data used, etc... I trust that mechanism more, because ultimately, that's what determines my bill.

Is Verizon really blocking this? Their techs deny they block anything but I had it on an older version but not on the new OS. My understanding is others on other carriers still have the Blackberry Data Usage monitor.
I would like the option to use whichever tool I choose and not be told what to use.
The Blackberry data usage tool allowed me to easily look at what app was using data. The Verizon usage app just has general categories that does nothing to help figure out which app is the bandwidth hog.

Sign in to My Verizon on the website, then go to My Billing & Usage, then Manage Usage Alerts.
