Turn off WiFi calling on a SQC100-3 on Ting (GSM) in the USA?
Hola Amigos!
I think I boxed myself in a corner, and hope someone out there has a solution.
I'm using a Classic SQC100-3 (Verizon) on a USA GSM Network (Ting-- Tmobile towers). OS 10.3.3.1463.
Works fine for me on the towers, but my issue is WiFi calling. I never had the feature on Verizon of course, but when I put in the GSM sim, I now have it. The phone wants to use it whenever the Wireless is on, and I don't want it (reasons).
Ting's website has an area under "Device Settings" for my line to enable/disable WiFi calling, and I have it disabled. I called Ting and they said there should be an app to enable/disable it on the handset, but I don't see one on the device or in AppWorld.
Any ideas? I'd love to tell the OS to not use WiFi calling. Do I need to load an older/different OS?
Thanks!
P.S. Why not just use WiFi calling? I don't like it! I live really close to a juicy tower, and in the yard where my WiFi signal is pooping out it drops calls during the handoff sometimes, and I just would rather not use it.
