Isn't listening to their old time users what got them in the place they are today? I don't need apps, I don't need...... and the majority of people said I don't need a blackberry. So they are counting on their ?million current legacy users to keep the doors open?

I can see them making one model to see how it goes. I'm guessing that would be pkb model.

Fishpaste! Can't believe that the buttons are coming back to the gestures based BlackBerry 10 OS... Dafaq is going on here? it's better to get people accustomed to the new features with some ads than to just make a device with physical keys.. this is so backwards and just catering to that small but noisy group who keep asking for these keys. Good luck with changing perceptions with this move. Effing SMH..

Flip phone with a retractable antenna would be nice as well. Maybe add a clock to the outside.

We honestly don't NEED the trackpad back! The OS is built around gestures now. It made sense for a BBOS device, not a BB 10 device.

I was very disappointed to hear they were going away. But once I used a BB10 device for the first time, I was elated, as I prefer more screen realestate. When I pick up my wife's Q10 I don't use it for very long as the screen seems tiny compared to my Z30. Bad news indeed. They still sell Legacy devices why not have the people that want that function to buy those. JMO

Wtf. BlackBerry 10 is not designed to work with those buttons. That is extremely stupid. If that happens the z10 will be my last BlackBerry.
It's entirely possible they'll release some with the trackpad and some without... just like they have some with keyboard and some without.

No need to get melodramatic just yet.

Totally agree. Give us a choice. I myself can go so much faster with the trackpad. Big loss when they took it away. Three cheers for Chen!!!!!

Trackpad is great for actual power business users!

You guys just don't get it. BlackBerry would have met with fortune 500 companies and asked them why they're not switching to BES10 I garuntee the trackpad would have been one of the reasons.

This one is quite polarizing I think. For legacy BBOS fans, some were annoyed that the trackpad, menu button, back button etc were gone. On the other hand, I think many of us who like BlackBerry 10 now would find that in the way, and a waste of real estate.

They better have two versions then, one with and one without the track pad.

From my experience with my Q10 i don't miss the trackpad nor the start/end call keys, and i always thought it was a good and courageous move for BB10 to present a brand new experience together with a new OS.
Maybe i could see something interesting in the trackpad for selecting text or browsing internet...
would like to see it in action and try it by myself... but Q10 experience is already very good at browsing with the space bar to scroll and other shortcuts...
so let's see (i only hope that move won't confuse a little more the consumers as those physical keys and trackpad were associated to old BB7 experience that was very poor for a smartphone...)

Well if the trackpad comes back with no physical keyboard it might be a cool idea for the customers in transition. I may not use it but I'm not against it as long as they are using BlackBerry 10 that still takes gestures, touch screen & trackpad.

BlackBerry would also have to demo BB10 to them and have them test it. Gestures are becoming the new trend in mobile phones now. Buttons are becoming an old fad. Anyways it's the touchscreen they decided to make the trackpad. Why add another?

The only way I'll accept the trackpad is if it had a fingerprint scanner implanted somehow.

Look at the space bar in the Windermere leaked pictures. Looks like a multi function space bar to me which would be cool.

But if the trackpad was any where else it would be a terrible idea

If these buttons have to be incorporated, I'd rather them be on a virtual bar where you can hide them when not in use, and use a gesture to bring them back up. You'd get the best of both worlds, and it would be a more modern take on those buttons.
