I love the classic, but I would have liked a bigger trackpad that lights up.

    Thoughts?

I agree. The illuminated edges on the 9900 trackpad were great. I wish they had carried that over to the Classic.

You're only complaint seems to be the size and the illumination, not the quality. Build quality is very nice.

I like the fact that it's not illuminated, as it doesn't scream "old Blackberry" with that big target in the middle.

The quality of the device is great. The light up track pad and the dimming/powering down sequence was a great thing, but they did away with it.

I don't put a case on my classic because the quality is there. I do have a case on my passport however.

Would have been nice for it to light up, but at the end of the day it really makes no difference...

To each his own. To others it does make a difference, that's what the forum is for!

The 9900 has a curved keyboard which allowed room for a bigger trackpad. I find the trackpad on the Classic too small and frustrating to use.

The 9900 track pad was very smooth. It was exactly the right size. The Classic version seems a tad bargain basement.

It's fine to me. Works fine and dandy, I just worry about the paint rubbing off the keys under the trackpad. People like to compare to much, just be happy BlackBerry made this phone and didn't fold the company and sell everything to Windows or Google.

I agree.. it's sad that the next version (Classic 2 / whatever it maybe called) with sadly have this feature... thus may see me getting that one. :-(

I prefer the smaller pad vs having less screen. I love the ergonomic 99 keyboard. But I have adapted to the straight kb and smaller track button.

I find myself using the track button less as times goes on. Perfect combination of both worlds.

After 5 months this phone is rocking!

You should be a spokesman for BlackBerry to all the 9900 holdouts. I'm sure you'd boost the company back to profitability haha

Hey, they must keep something to be desired; the point is to get people to get the Clasic II when it comes out.

You know 7 months ago I was very skeptical of the "Classic". Especially after trying out a Z10 for a week last summer.

There are few of us that is so set in our ways and don't like changes. The big thing that changed everything is BB10.2 now with 10.3 JC/BB has the OS where it needed to be 3 years ago.

If I was not an active user of CB I would not have the base knowledge nor the sources. So yes I'm happy with the Classic and BlackBerry.

You and other people like you have shown me the light.
