is there any way to set a shortcut key for the screen off switch?
mine has stopped working

Push and hold the key you wish to assign, click 'other shortcut' then select lock device

Otherwise the shortcut settings are in settings -> shortcut and speed dial -> then find your letter and select what shortcut you wish to create.

To invoke the action of that shortcut, push and hold that letter from the homescreen.
