I have an unlocked BB Classic with a Virgin Mobile Canada SIM in it. It has been working fine for the past four months. Recently however there have been some severe issues with text messages. My device will freeze up when attempting to send and won't load any other conversation in the meantime, also deleting the message I intend to send. At the beginning rebooting the phone would solve the issue, now however text messages hardly work and contact names take forever to load (if they load at all, otherwise it will just show the numbers). Has anyone else experienced this issue or does anybody have any suggestions? Thank you.

Have you tried reloading the device software? Do a backup and give it a try.

I've had the same issue for the past week: blank screen taking 5-10 seconds to load; typing replies and the words delayed in the display and then trying to send with the return key and not sending for a few minutes. Then the girlfriend replying " hello??? You still there?".
Rebooting does not help. Not sure what the cause is. Weird.

Try going to Device Monitor, click on CPU tab, and see if BlackBerry Blend is at a high %. If so, click on it and then choose Close.

Reloading a previous backup seems to have fixed the issue!
